Feb. The rich media website for The Communication Group is launched. Dave Granvold from Specimen was the Creative Director and Technical Director for the re-design of this San Francisco interactive and creative marketing agency's website (with HTML, Web 2.0 and Flash). Dave lead the team of TCG's in-house designers Ching Wang and Nicole Skillern. Flash coding by Specimen and design development, motion graphics and production by the team. The site features tight browser integration (deep linking) allowing this 100% Flash site to be controlled by the browser forward/backward buttons and deep bookmarking of all specific pieces of Flash content. Certain parts of the site are loaded via XML for easy maintenance. The site has a high-bandwidth look and feel with low bandwidth performance.

Oct. Tastebook.com site launched to wide acclaim with Specimen produced high-profile video demonstrations of this new internet-based custom cookbook service. A custom-skinned video player interface was also designed and built in Flash.

Sep. Chicken and Egg Films, site launched. Chicken and Egg is a non-profit organization that provides excutive producer support and small grants to women film makers. Specimen provided substantial pro-bono discounts on design and production and continues to support and enhance the site pro-bono.
Aug. Pablo Designs, site launched. Pablo is a custom lighting and furnishing design firm. Specimen collaborated with Lina Edin on functional specifications and interface design. Lina did the site design and graphic production while we did graphic production, motion/video work and built the site. We are currently maintaing the site and implementing an online store component.
